Of Steampunk Rings and shiny things.
OK, the shiny things are the Steampunk Rings.
They are one and the same…
I’ve set up this page to showcase a small selection of my Neo-Victorian rings. In case you haven’t seen my work before, my name is Lora and I’ve been making Steampunk Jewelry on my London Particulars Etsy shop since 2008.
Each of the rings on this page, like virtually every piece of my jewelry, is truly one-of-a-kind.
This is due to the nature of my materials, namely vintage watch parts.
Some of these gorgeous clockwork pieces have been around for decades and its very rare that I find any two alike.
And that is definitely one of the reasons I love creating Steampunk jewelry, because I know when someone decides they want to own one of my works, that they are getting something truly unique.
As you can see from the video above and a few of the pieces below, I try to create as much variety in my pieces as I can.
If you have a favorite color then the chances are you will find it represented in one of these pieces. And if not, you can of course always contact me through this blog or on Etsy and let me know what you would like and I will do my best to conjure it up for you.
This rather charming Steampunk Ring is fashioned with a vintage watch movement in silver and gold tones. I left this piece unadorned because I really enjoy its natural colors and the workmanship of the watch movement itself is gorgeous.
The watch movement is set on a delicate filigree ring in a Neo-Victorian style.
This ring is definitely a Study in Emerald (a reference for Neil Gaiman fans). And silver (and a little gold). The ring features a vintage ruby-jeweled watch movement which measures 18mm by 15mm, dark-emerald green Swarovski crystals and a high-quality silver-plated stamped brass filigree made from vintage tooling.
Are you a Crimson Lady (or Scarlet Gentlemen)? Well if you are then this gorgeously bold deep red Steampunk ring should be adorned upon your finger henceforth! The ring was created using a vintage ruby-jeweled watch movement, high-quality stamped brass filigree ring and vividly twinkling dark-siam red Swarovski crystals.
This highly unusual Steampunk Ring would be well at home in the lair of a Butterfly Collector. Or on the finger of a person of exceptional taste – i.e. you…
This gloriously steamy steampunk ring is a rare creature of clockwork. It was created using a rare vintage seventeen ruby-jeweled watch movement set upon a filigree antiqued brass butterfly. Catch it while you can…
If your charting an airship to take you into the big blue above, then this enchanting piece will compliment you perfectly. This vividly bold piece has been fashioned using Aqua-Blue Zircon Swarovski Crystals. You will also find a vintage 15-ruby jeweled watch movement, the aforementioned crystals and a high quality silver-plated stamped brass filigree ring made from vintage tooling.
Fancy yourself as a Bond Villain? Come on – we’ve all been there… well now you can literally become a Goldfinger… or at least you can wear a vividly golden Steampunk ring upon your finger.
Which is the next best thing.
This ring was made using a vintage ruby-jeweled watch movement set upon a silver-plated filigree brass ring made with vintage tooling.
Finally I present this rather striking Steampunk Ring. I love the colors in this piece because while their slightly more muted than some of the other colors I usually use, they’re really subtle and darkly gorgeous.
This one-of-a-kind Neo-Victorian wonder was created using a lovely clockwork design with black diamond Swarovski crystals and a vintage ruby-jeweled watch movement and antiqued silver plated brass.
Please remember, as mentioned, that these Steampunk Rings are only a small snapshot of the vast cornucopia you will find in my Etsy shop. And as ever, please do feel free to let me know if there is a color or design which you would like me to make for you, I’m always open to people’s ideas.
